Appointments

Make an appointment by visiting our Consulting Room.

Appointments are bookable up to 2 weeks in advance.

Urgent Appointments

The surgery offers on the day appointments for those patients requiring input into a new condition that cannot wait to be seen for a routine appointment. To access these appointments, please call the surgery between 08:00-10:30 or 14:00 -16:00.

Our reception staff are trained to ask brief information from patients as to why the appointment has been requested. This is to ensure that you are triaged by a clinician appropriately and receive the most appropriate medical care from the most appropriate health professional.

Nurse Clinics

Bridgemary Medical Centre offers a number of different nurse clinics for issues such as Asthma, Travel Vaccinations, Chronic Disease Management, Baby immunisations and Cervical smears. We do not offer walk-in clinics, for the full list of services we offer please see our Health Review and Assessment Clinic page.

Both our GPs And Nurses review patients with Chronic Diseases. The surgery offers a recall service in which you will be invited for an annual review appointment in the month of your birthday. You may be asked to complete a relevant online form prior to your appointment and it is important you attend for your review.

Cancellations

If you are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment as soon as possible so that we can offer it to another patient.

Travel Vaccinations

If you are travelling abroad please ensure you contact us with at least 8 weeks’ notice prior to your travel date to arrange any vaccinations that may be necessary. To help the Nurses assess your travel needs it is important that they are in receipt of the Travel Risk Assessment form before your appointment.

Please note, the Travel Risk Assessment form can be found at www.bridgemarymedicalcentre.co.uk/navigator/travel-risk-assessment and must be returned to the practice 8 weeks prior to your travel date. Please note, not all vaccinations are free and some will incur a cost.

Complete a Travel Risk Assessment form.

Text Message Reminders

Bridgemary Medical Centre sends appointment reminders for most of its appointments. You will receive a message 24 hours prior to your appointment confirming the date and time, on the mobile number we have on your record so it is important you continue to keep us to date with your most appropriate contact number. If you would not like to receive these messages please let reception know.

Integrated Primary Care Access Service

GP Practices in the local area collaborate with Southern Hampshire Primary Care Alliance to provide appointments for GP Practices outside of the surgeries normal opening hours. Booking of these appointments is still accessed through the normal surgery appointment booking.
